 Chrysalis’ mission is to help homeless and economically disadvantaged individuals become self-sufficient through employment opportunities. Chrysalis is the only independent nonprofit organization in Los Angeles County exclusively dedicated to assisting homeless and impoverished men and women to overcome barriers and ultimately obtain and maintain employment. Since 1984, Chrysalis has assisted over 30,000 people. Over 1500 individuals will find jobs through Chrysalis’ programs in 2008.

Chrysalis operates two social enterprises that provide transitional job opportunities for those clients with the most significant barriers to employment, while also providing earned income for the organization. Chrysalis Works is a professional street maintenance company that provides clients work experience in cleaning, landscaping, and graffiti mitigation. Chrysalis Staffing is a temporary labor agency that allows clients to reenter the job market through short-term, full-time and part-time work assignments.

Chrysalis is seeking a lead donor to kickoff a $750,000 capital campaign for Chrysalis Green, its new social enterprise.
